When we design and explore, we’re rooted in strategy. We look at your brand’s core values, personality, inspiration, audience, vision and more. We feel it’s necessary to develop brands holistically, knowing that ultimately, we’re telling a story about the whole of your business—considered from every angle.

Every project we embark on follows the same foundational timeline — we begin with exploration which we then transform into cohesive and recognizable design that resonates with the right people.

 
 

01 / Discovery

Before we embark on design, we ask you a variety of questions from different angles, either directly or through a questionnaire, to help us dig deeper into the heart of your brand and its unique qualities. This stage begins the strong foundation we need to explore designs that properly appeal to your audience and express the brand vision.

02 / DRAFTING

We then evaluate the information we learned from our discovery questions behind-the-scenes, and talk as a team about your brand and our recommendations for it based on a range of factors. We use this evaluation period as a foundation to begin drafting an overarching visual direction for your project.

03 / DESIGN

Once we establish a visual direction for the project based on our evaluation of your brand, we implement that direction into concrete designs that we review, test, and refine behind-the-scenes until we have a cohesive and powerful set of recommended designs for your project.

04 / DEVELOPMENT

Once we complete final designs, we develop everything we worked on into downloadable, ready-to-use files and resources. All files are provided in an organized digital file system custom-made for your brand, ready for you to download, use, and share with your team.

 

Behind the Name

Togue (峠) is a Japanese word that translates to narrow path.

The narrow path of a trail may take a little more time to find, but often leads to the best views in the end. In the same way, we believe great brands require us to discover them. What makes them different—their essence, their personality, their vision, their unique aesthetic. We ask every brand we work with to answer key discovery questions before we embark on design, because we believe that doing that soul-searching upfront leads to the best brands in the end.
